Herve Leger Spring 2014: Perfect For Nicki Minaj & Katy Perry

When you hear Herve Leger, you immediately think of the sexy and flattering bandage dress. The signature look is popular at every event and each year a new version debuts at fashion week. This year was no different, but Herve surprised me with a versatile collection and new details we’ve never seen before.

Herve Leger created a sexy, sleek collection for 2014 and we couldn’t be more excited about it. With the mix of bandage dresses, flowy bottoms and leather detail, the geometric collection is one of the designers’ best ever.

Many were wondering how Herve could get any sexier, since each year we see a great amount of the body-con dresses. Using harder elements, the sex appeal was stronger than ever. Each piece in the collection was lined with creative zippers in flattering locations, and wide leather belts, creating spectacular silhouettes on the models.

Beaded embellishments and perfect seams showed the true talent behind the designers. The dresses, bra-top combinations and moto jackets’ details created a tribal feel, but weren’t overdone or showy; Herve stuck with mostly black, white and gray hues, but mixed in some peach and blue highlights.

The skin-tight dresses were flattering on each and every figure because of the exquisite details — whether it was a short moto jacket, an outline of fringe, or a flowy skirt on the bottom of a bandage. Even the super sexy swim wear had a great deal of detail and embellishment.

The models were lightly made up — not overdone, really letting the garments do the speaking. With natural-looking bronzed skin and loose wet hair, they rocked a light smoky eye creating the perfect amount of drama in their face. Accessories were also simple while some carried black leather clutches, and all rocked strappy black or nude heels.

The collection, which had a more athletic feel than it has in the past, was perfect for Katy Perry, who loves a crop top and skirt. Katy rocked an Herve bra-top and bandage skirt at the 2013 Kid’s Choice Awards, and couldn’t have looked better! All of the pieces would look great on her, but the two-piece ensembles are especially flattering and just scream her name — although she’d probably want them in a lime green or hot pink, rather than the sexy black.

In attendance at the show, looking better than ever was Nicki Minaj. It’s no surprise she was there, as she’s been a long-time supporter of the classic bandage dress, and now that the thick leather belts add a bad-girl side to combine with the sexiness, this collection overall is perfect for her.
